Dolphin HD Browser App for iPad
Dolphin browser was just released as an app for iPad yesterday by developer MoboTap. This clever browser app for iPad was developed alongside Safari, in order to render and display content. What is distinctive about this iPad app is its tabbed browsing and gestures that integrate with the iPad tablet. Dolphin has been a popular third-party browser for Android and only launched it’s iPhone app a few days ago. The developer has lofty plans for this iPad app as it recently raised a first round of $10 million in venture capital.
Dolphin HD iPad Browser has many cool features and an innovative approach that will allow it to compete with the default Safari browser. One of the Safari weak points is the lack of tabs. Dolphin HD iPad app has fixed that and made it smooth to navigate between tabs, bookmarks and pages.
Things We Like About This iPad App
Another feature we really like is the full screen button that blocks out distractions and looks super great on my iPad 2 device. Dolphin’s webzine feature offers great news content in a magazine style design for easy reading. The gestures in this browser iPad app are a joy to work with . When you swipe left and right to open your saved bookmarks or a view of your most recent tabs is a game changer. Swiping needs some improvement which we expect in future updates. Browsing on Safari has been great but now Safari needs to update in order to catch up to Dolphin. If Apple offered a browser choice and not just the default Safari, iPad apps like Dolphin could really take off.
This Browser App for iPad is Solid
Overall we like the Dolphin HD iPad app experience for browsing the web. It was designed with style and good and tapping the tabs to navigate browsing make browsing the web on your iPad an even better experience. So for now Dolphin has a winner that is until Apple releases their Safari update that will likely include similar features.
The Dolphin HD iPad app is available on the iTunes app store for free.
