Using iBooks Author to Write Your First Digital Book

ibooks and ebooksFor those of you who love to write and dream of publishing a printed book or a digital ebook then we’ve got some advice for you.  When do you plan to write your book? I ask you, what’s wrong with starting today?

Writing an eBook has never been easier, in fact Apple makes it easy by giving you free iBooks Author software to make publishing and creation much easier to sale your digital book for the iPad. Face it, most bloggers love to write and dream of having a wider readership. We also found an iPad app called Book Creator for iPad that you can download here.

So no more excuses from any of us about writing and getting published. Here’s extra motivation to get started on writing your ebook or starting a blog:

1. People are buying print books.

Despite all the negative news about major news print going under , the book industry is still in the black. There’s just something about holding and reading a printed book that the iPad can’t fully replicate. Sure, eBooks publishing is popular but print books are here and still in demand.

And if people are still buying books that means publishers are still looking for the next great writer. Could that be you?

2. Self Limiting Beliefs Hold You Back

Learn what you need to know about crafting a fantastic book proposal. Then put in the due diligence to refine it as well as your book idea before you send it off to any agents.

If you wonder why there are so many rejection letters sent out each day, it’s because most people skip these crucial first steps. Put in the time and care on your proposal, and you will already be ahead of the game.

Swift Shopper App Review

top ipad appsFor many of us we carry our iPad just about everywhere. Some of us even take our iPad with us shopping. And of course all of us take our iPhone with us everywhere. We found a recently released(March 28) new iPad app that does a wonderful job of scanning product barcodes and creating a copy of the barcode on your iOS device. The name of this app is called Swift Shopper.  So when you go to checkout at the register you can heckout with your smartphone and scan the barcodes right off the screen. What this adds is convenience by having no need to physically remove any items out of your shopping basket, just hand the cashier your iPhone or iPad and a few swipes of  iOS device later and you’re checked out! New Eastern Europe for iPad

Best iPad appsToday we are taking a look at an iPad app journal subscription called New Eastern Europe. This English language quarterly magazine for your iPad is a must have news source for those interested in the latest news stories from Central and Eastern Europe. The magazine provides readers with current events, political analysis, cultural and historical discussion as well as books and film reviews from and about the region.

New Eastern Europe magazine is published by the non-profit foundation College of Eastern Europe with the editorial team based out of Krakow Poland. This is a free iPad app download with paid content within. Subscriptions are also available within the application. Once you sign up for an ongoing subscription you’ll then be notified within the app when the latest issue is available to download within the app magazine. Review:Beside Myself


Today we are reviewing an iPad app from the Entertainment category on the iTunes app store. This new iPad app was just released about 1 month ago by Jeff Gomez. This app is called Beside Myself and is actually an interactive novel that delves into some interesting and deep philosophical waters.
This unique interactive novel explores decisions that we didn’t make and the paths that you didn’t go down.
This is a clever app concept and one that more authors should pursue. Jeff has designed the interactivity smartly so it compliments the written word of his novel. (video and screenshots below the break) Continue reading
