We are all getting excited about the upcoming iPad 3 release which still seems to be set for March 7th in San Francisco. The iPad 3 is rumored to feature the Apple A6 quad-core processor. This will be a big upgrade if this rumor is true. Everyone expects the improved graphics to include the new Retina display.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that AT&T and Verizon will carry the iPad 3 which will include LTE capability. It would only seem right for Sprint to also be included as an LTE iPad 3 carrier but the WSJ makes no mention of that. Here is an excerpt from the WSJ yesterday. Continue reading
WorldCard HD is an app for iPad that was updated recently on the app store. The developer of this business card manager app is Penpower Inc. This iPad app allows you to use your iPad for capturing those stacks of paper business cards and import them into a customer management system. This is a great iPad app for business card scanning and management, especially for those of us who carry our iPads everywhere we go. How many new business cards to you have to manage each week? This iPad app comes with an advanced version of Optical Character Recognition technology which utilizes the iPad camera lens.
We like how WorldCard HD has designed easy-to-use interface that we were able to navigate around easily. Also, they’ve integrated a great search tool that allows finding business card information really quickly. Each business card is represented as a record in a table with standard attributes such as name, address, company name and more. Continue reading
As we all expected it looks like the next big Apple event will be the released of the iPad 3. According to AllThingsD, which seems to be pretty accurate in revealing Apple’s new media events, is reporting that Apple will hold an event to launch the iPad 3 tablet the week of March 5th.
Sources say the Apple has chosen the first week in March to release the much anticipated successor to the very popular iPad 2 device. This Apple iPad 3 release event will be held in San Francisco, and we’re guessing at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Apple’s preferred location for big announcements like these. No word yet on a street date for the iPad 3 , though my guess is retail availability will follow roughly the same schedule as that of the iPad 2: Available for purchase a week or so after the event. When Apple introduced the iPad 2 at it’s media event on March 2, 2011 they began selling the iPad 2 very soon afterward.
The report’s sources also corroborate some of the basic rumors surrounding the device, claiming that it will feature a high-resolution display, enhanced graphics with others saying there will not be a dual processing chip on board this time.
More news regarding iPad 3 as Bloomberg has revealed that the next generation iPad 3 has moved into production with an expected March 2012 release date. The Bloomberg article also claimed the new iPad will feature a higher-resolution display, we are thinking Retina, and a quad-core processor. The quad-core processor lets you quickly switch between iPad apps.
The company’s manufacturing partners in Asia started ramping up production of the iPad 3 this month and plan to reach full volumes by February, said one of the people, who asked not to be named because the details aren’t public. The tablet will use a quad-core chip, an enhancement that lets users jump more quickly between applications, two of the people said. Continue reading
Has iPad 3 production already begun? According to Macotakara Japanese website is reporting that their source revealed that manufacturers Foxconn Electronics and Pegatron Technology have pushed the button to begin production of the iPad 3 for an early-March launch. Some believe this could be announced on February 24th, in honor of Steve Jobs birthday.
The report from this Japanese blog is based on unnamed Chinese sources. In the report they’ve described the new iPad 3 as identical to the iPad 2 but with many new internal features. There is a possibility of an overall thinner form factor if Apple chooses to use the new Gorilla 2 glass from Corning. Some of the rumored features might be in shape of the dock connector and location of the two built-in cameras. If the form factor stays the same then you’ll still be able to use your Smart Cover on the iPad 3. Some form fitting cases may not work, however, as the device is slightly thinner. Continue reading
