Review: Snugg iPad 2 Case and Stand

Admittedly, I enjoy the beauty and design of the iPad 2 so much that I prefer it naked without a case. However, I do realize the need for protection especially recently when a friend dropped my iPad 2 while watching a video. Thankfully it hit carpet and there was no damage. Finding a case that elegantly matches up with the iPad’s stunning design is a challenge. Some iPad 2 cases that we’ve reviewed seem rushed to market and get negative marks for design points.

ipad 2 cases by SnuggIn this iPad 2 case review we’re looking at the Snugg iPad 2 Leather Case Cover and Flip Stand. The first thing we notice with this iPad 2 case is the classy business style design of this black faux leather case and stand. There is high quality off-white stitching along the edges and stiff extra protection under the front and rear cover of this iPad 2 case. The interior has a lovely suede feeling inside which is soft to the touch to keep scratches away from your iPad 2. (video demo below break) Continue reading

A look at GelaSkins for iPad 2

If you have had other iOS devices then this iPad accessory maker is not new to you. GelaSkins creates protective iPad 2 covers and skins are one of the best in the iPad accessories industry. GelaSkins designs very stylish vinyl decals which can pimp out your iPad 2 more than the typical clear protectors. We really like this iPad 2 accessory because they are easy to apply to your iPad.  Gelaskins are a dry application so you can remove them countless times without any residue left on your iPad 2. GelaSkins for the iPad 2 are high quality, beautiful, with a plethora of designs by artists.  It is really great to be able to design your own custom iPad 2 cover so that it reflects you. Best iPad 2 Cases of Luxury

Are you still doubting that the iPad 2 is one of the hottest product launches ever? More proof can be seen in the iPad 2 accessory market which is a multibillion dollar industry. There seems to be demand even for luxurious iPad 2 cases for the rich and famous. The French brand Cartier jumped into the luxury pool with their $420 iPad 2 case a few months back. We found a few high-end iPad 2 cases that are even pricier than the Cartier Les Must collection.  The popularity of the iPad 2 across all demographics has opened the door for the most expensive case designs that we know of. In fact, one of these iPad 2 cases in our review actually cost more than the Apple’s most expensive iPad 2 tablet ($829 3G/64GB).

The Padova: Orbino is the manufacturer of this fine leather iPad 2 case. This Padova ipad 2 case integrates with Apple’s Smart Cover Technology. The Padova is a a full cover design that is super-slim and matches the sleek elegance of the iPad 2 and its thinner redesign. These Orbino iPad 2 cases are handmade to be high-performance that protect the iPad 2 both on the front and back of the iPad tablet. Orbina proudly statest that each Padova iPad 2 case is 100% built by hand by a single artisan in their own facilities in Italy. Orbino’s Padova entry level iPad 2 case is available in four premium colors: Brown, Black,Deep Red, and Pecan and is priced at $209 (not pictured). The limited edtion Padova iPad 2 case offers higher end leather skins like Crocodile and Ostrich which are pictured left. The price of the Padova limited edition iPad 2 case is $689 for Crocodile and Ostrich for $569. (Astounding iPad case $ after the break)  Continue reading

Flashy iPad Case with Keyboard

The iPad case keyboard combinations that have been produced lately are improving their design. I’ve not been quick to jump in and cover up the beauty of the iPad 2 with any of the iPad cases. Actually I have carried both my original iPad and the iPad 2 naked without a case since day one. I may be ready now for a keyboard case after seeing the Aluminum Keyboard Buddy Case for iPad 2 from MicGadget out of Hong Kong. When the cover is closed doesn’t this combination iPad case morph into a Macbook Air look-a-like? (See Video demo after the break)

We like the shape of this iPad case with it’s iPad-like curved aluminum back. The nearly full-sized QWERTY keyboard that so resembles Apple’s high quality bluetooth aluminum keyboard. This iPad case keyboard also comes with a USB rechargable lithium-polymer battery. This may really become a hit for students who can’t afford a Macbook Air but by adding this $50 case you got a pretty functional laptop replacement for less money. The only downside I see here is that it ships from Hong Kong at a costs of $13.00 but for $63.00 this looks like a solid and cleverly designed iPad accessory. Click here to get it from M.I.C. store. iPad 2 Keyboard and Case by ClamCase

Do you keep looking at your elegant new iPad 2 and wishing for more protection and a keyboard? We found a nice solution from ClamCase that may work for you.
The ClamCase is a clever little product which basically makes an iPad 2 look and feel a bit a Macbook and takes care of your needs for a case, stand and Bluetooth keyboard all packaged together.
Of course, the Clamcase has been out and tested with iPad first-generation for some time so by now they’ve worked out any issues in time for iPad 2. It has been redesigned to expose the back camera and built-in iPad 2 speakers as well as integrated magnets which will let your iPad 2 know whether your iPad 2 case is open or closed.

As the Bluetooth keyboard is concerned, the iPad 2 case by ClamCase has wireless connectivity via Bluetooth with Easy Sync, a proprietary standard that connects the keyboard automatically once you wake up your iPad 2. Clamcase claims that the keyboard battery will keep it’s charge for up 100 days in standby.

Or course, this is not the first product of this kind. Zaggmate case is another competitor and a much better product line and company. ClamCase is different in one big way with their keyboard for iPad 2. It is a patented 360 degrees rotating hinge which allows you to fold the ClamCase bluetooth keyboard onto the back of the iPad 2 as well as the front opening for a notebook pc feel. The ClamCase is at $149.00.

UPDATE: We’ve heard of some complaints with this company in terms of customer service. We also experienced very slow response time  and “lost tickets” support system. It took multiple emails just to get a response which was from untrained customer support representatives. We don’t recommend Clamcase for this reason and think their product is not worthy of the premium price tag.
