We just found an excellent note taking app for iPad that is all about handwriting recognition called 7Notes HD. This iPad app recognized both my cursive words and individual letters written with my finger (stylus pen recommended) on my iPad 2 tablet. This recently released iPad app from 7notes is a very sophisticated app that uses a powerful predictive engine to recognize all types of handwriting, even my chicken scratch. (screenshots and video demo below break)  Continue reading

Steve Jobs Resigns as CEO of Apple

United Airlines Gives Out 11,000 iPads to Pilots

So many industries are adopting the iPad tablet as a solution to replace massive printed material whether it be text books or flight bags for commercial pilots. United Airlines announced today that they have made a complete transition to replace flight bags of navigation charts and manuals by offering their pilots 11,000 iPad 2 devices. Delta and American airlines have also gotten on board using the iPad 2 as flight bags.

Putting flight bags on the iPad tablet is a big cost saver because the airlines can save around 40 pounds of paper weight per pilot. Smart decision by the airlines since the iPad is so much easier for pilots to navigate and easier to keep up to date along with the ease of the iPad touch interface.  Continue reading

WSJ Update of iPad 3 Release Date

The iPad 3 release date seems to be getting a little clearer. According to a Wall Street Journal article this morning, Apple has ordered the iPad 3 chips, display panels and other key components for the upcoming iPad 3 release. As the iPad 3 enters into trial production in October the scheduled launch is rumored to be a first quarter 2012 iPad 3 release date.

“Suppliers will ramp up production and try to improve the yield rate for the new iPad in the fourth quarter before its official launch in early 2012″ a supply source tells the Wall Street Journal.
